Internationales Pétanque Turnier in Freistadt

Liebe Pétanque Freund:innen!

Wir wissen, viele von euch planen gern vor und sind jetzt schon auf der Suche nach Spielpartner:innen für 2026 Einen Termin würden wir euch in der neuen Saison ganz besonders ans Herz legen:

Am FR, 1. Mai 2026 (Feiertag) und am SA, 2. Mai 2026 planen wir in Freistadt zwei internationale Open-Turniere mit viel Preisgeld für die Siegerteams. Wir würden uns freuen, wenn ihr euch den Termin schon einmal vormerkt und an Freunde (natürlich auch im Ausland) weiterleitet.

Für alle die Freistadt als Veranstaltungsort diverser Turniere schon kennen gibt es eine Veränderung: Das Wochenende wird nicht auf der Promenade stattfinden – hier lassen die Gegebenheiten nicht mehr als 25 Bahnen zu – sondern auf einem großen Park- bzw. Festplatzgelände mit zugehöriger Aufenthaltshalle und bester Versorgung direkt in Freistadt an der Adresse Am Stieranger 1, 4240 Freistadt (übrigens in nächster Nähe zum Busbahnhof, also öffentlich erreichbar).

Die Anmeldung dafür werden wir bereits am 1.1. 2026 öffnen, damit auch ausländische Teams die Reise früh genug planen können. (boule.at/turniere, max. 128 Teams)

Die Resonanz ist überwältigend: Wir freuen uns über ein hochklassiges

Teilnehmer:innenfeld mit Teams aus mindestens 10 verschiedenen Nationen. Das

verspricht Spitzensport und internationales Flair bei uns in Freistadt.

Damit ihr bestens vorbereitet seid, hier alle wichtigen Updates zum Turnier:

Anmeldestatus:

  • Triplette (1. Mai): Wir haben noch einige Restplätze frei! Wer noch nicht

gemeldet hat, sollte schnell sein: Anmeldung unter https://boule.at/turniere

  • Doublette (2. Mai): Dieses Turnier ist bereits komplett ausgebucht. Wir führen

jedoch eine Warteliste. Falls ihr nachrücken möchtet, schreibt uns bitte eine

Mail an psv.freistadt@gmail.com (Teamname, Spieler:innen & Kontaktperson

angeben).

Fixierung des Startplatzes (Vorabzahlung)

Um euren Startplatz zu garantieren, muss das Startgeld (Doublette € 30,- / Triplette        

€ 45,- pro Team) bis spätestens 22. April 2026 auf unserem Konto eingelangt sein.

Wichtig: Ohne Zahlung verfällt der Platzanspruch und es kann sein, dass ihr vor

Ort keinen Startplatz bekommt.

Bei Nichterscheinen erfolgt keine Rückerstattung.

Standort: 

Das Freistadt Open wird an der Adresse „Am Stieranger 1, 4240 Freistadt“ gespielt. Es

handelt sich um ein privates Gelände mitten in Freistadt inklusive einer Halle, in der die

Verpflegung und Turnierorganisation untergebracht ist. 

Spielmodus: 

Es werden 4 Vorrunden Schweizer System gespielt. Danach erreichen die Top 32 das A,

sowie die Ränge 33 bis 64 das B Turnier; beide werden im KO-Format ausgetragen (kein

Spiel um Platz 3). Das Turnier ist als „Open“ klassifiziert (keine Lizenz nötig) und zählt

zur österreichischen Rangliste (PAT). Einen Zeitplan findet ihr im Anhang. 

Kulinarik:

Wir sorgen dafür, dass ihr das gesamte Wochenende über bestens versorgt seid. Freut

euch den ganzen Tag über auf hausgemachte Gerichte wie Kichererbsencurry oder

Linsendal, Schnitzel, Schweinsbraten sowie Kartoffelgulasch. 

Selbstverständlich gibt es auch die bekannten Leberkäsesemmeln sowie regionale Getränke. 

Camping:

Ihr könnt von Donnerstag bis Sonntag gratis auf dem Vereinsgelände zelten oder im

Wohnmobil übernachten. Duschen und Toiletten werden zur Verfügung gestellt und

sind die ganze Nacht geöffnet. Wir freuen uns über eure Konsumation am Buffet oder

freiwillige Spenden. 

Da die Zufahrt normalerweise geschlossen ist, meldet euch bitte bei eurer Ankunft bei

uns, damit wir euch auf die Fläche zufahren lassen können. Ab Donnerstagmittag ist

das Organisationsteam mit Sicherheit schon anzutreffen. 

Parken:

Alle Details rund um Parkplätze in der Nähe findet ihr auf dieser Pärkplätze-Karte. Direkt

am Gelände dürfen nur Camper stehen. Bitte beachtet die Kurzparkzonen, besonders

am Samstagvormittag. 

Zeitplan:

Startzeiten: Beide Turniertage starten pünktlich um 09:00 Uhr (Einschreibeschluss 8:40,

siehe Anhang). Das Finale ist für 21:40 geplant, es wird 4 Flutlichtplätze in angenehmer

Atmosphäre geben – wir freuen uns über Zuseher:innen.

Für Live-Ergebnisse, Spielstände und wichtige Durchsagen nutzt bitte unseren

Whatsapp-Kanal, um am schnellsten up-to-date zu sein. 

Selbstverständlich werden auch alle Informationen vor Ort ausgehängt und verkündet.

we are looking forward to the Freistadt Open 2026 with great excitement!

The response has been overwhelming: We are thrilled to welcome a high-class field of

participants with teams from at least 10 different nations. This promises top-tier

sportsmanship and a truly international flair here in Freistadt.

To ensure you are well-prepared, here are all the important updates regarding the

tournament:

Registration Status:

  • Triplette (May 1st): We still have a few spots available! If you haven’t registered

yet, be quick: Register at https://boule.at/turniere

  • Doublette (May 2nd): This tournament is already fully booked. However, we are

maintaining a waiting list. If you would like to join the list, please send an email

to psv.freistadt@gmail.com (including team name, players, and a contact

person).

Confirming Your Spot (Pre-payment):

To guarantee your starting place, the entry fee (Doublette € 30 / Triplette € 45 per team)

must be received in our account by April 22nd, 2026, at the latest.

Without payment, your claim to a spot expires, and we cannot guarantee a

starting place on-site. 

There will be no refunds in the event of a no-show.

Location:

The Freistadt Open will take place at "Am Stieranger 1, 4240 Freistadt." The venue is a

private area in the center of Freistadt, including a hall where catering and tournament

organization will be located.

Game Mode: We will play 4 preliminary rounds (Swiss System). Afterwards, the top 32

teams reach the A-tournament, and ranks 33 to 64 reach the B-tournament. Both will be

played in a KO format (no 3rd place match). The tournament is classified as an "Open"

(no license required) and counts toward the Austrian ranking (PAT). You can find the

detailed schedule in the attachment.

 

Catering:

We will make sure you are well-fed throughout the entire weekend! Enjoy home-cooked

dishes all day long, such as chickpea curry, lentil dal, Schnitzel, roast pork

(Schweinsbraten), and potato goulash. 

Of course, we will also have or famous local "Leberkäsesemmel" and regional drinks.

Camping:

You can camp (tent or motorhome) on the club grounds for free from Thursday to

Sunday. Showers and toilets are provided and will remain open all night. We appreciate

your support through purchases at the buffet or voluntary donations. 

Since the entrance is normally closed, please ask us when you are here so we can let

you onto the grounds. The organizational team will definitely be on-site starting

Thursday at noon.

Parking:

Details regarding nearby parking can be found on this Parking Map Link. Only campers

are allowed to park directly on the grounds. Please pay attention to short-term parking

zones (Kurzparkzonen), especially on Saturday morning.

Schedule & Finals: Both tournament days start punctually at 09:00 AM (Check-in

closes at 08:40 AM, see attachment). The final is scheduled for 09:40 PM (21:40). There

will be 4 floodlit courts creating a great atmosphere - spectators are more than

welcome!

International Pétanque Tournament in Freistadt (Austria)

Dear Pétanque friends!

We know that many of you like to plan ahead and are already looking for playing partners for 2026.

We would like to recommend one date in particular for the new season: On Friday, May 1, 2026 (public holiday) and Saturday, May 2, 2026, we are planning two international open tournaments in Freistadt with generous prize money for the winning teams. We would be delighted if you could make a note of the date and pass it on to your friends.

For those of you who are already familiar with Freistadt as a venue for various tournaments, there is one change: The weekend will not take place on the promenade - the conditions there do not allow for more than 25 lanes - but on a large fairground with an adjoining lounge and excellent facilities directly in Freistadt at Am Stieranger 1, 4240 Freistadt (incidentally, very close to the bus station, so accessible by public transport).We will open registration for this on January 1, 2026, so that foreign teams can also plan their trip early enough.
